Dear Parents and Friends,

The 2010 Rummage Sale was a wonderful success!  Thank you Sonya McGinnis for the organization and management of this huge undertaking!  Thank you, also, to all the parents and friends who joined in the work.  We have a tremendous community!  The eighth grade class also raised money toward their year end activity by selling snacks.  Good job!

Here is a summary of Catholic Schools Week activities next week.

Sunday – 9:30 Mass St. Catherine Church – All families are asked to attend (with students in     uniform) and kick off Catholic Schools Week with our parish family.

Monday – School Maintenance Day – Students want to take on small maintenance projects around       the school.  Bring an old shirt to wear over your uniform.

Tuesday – Class Color Day – Each class chooses a color to represent their class, students wear free     dress in that color.

Wednesday – Student Teacher Day – 8th grader students will be teachers, principal, and secretary for    a portion of the day.  They are to dress appropriately for the job. Other students are in uniform.

Also Wednesday – Pet Blessing Day – Fr. Peter will bless pets brought in (by parents) Wednesday       morning outside Coyle Hall. Pets must be on leash and taken home directly after the blessing.

Thursday – Kamalani Day – We plan to leave at 8:30 and spend the day at Kamalani.  There will be      no breakfast or lunch served that day.  Please bring home lunch.  Parents are welcome to join    us at Kamalani.

Friday – No school for students – Teachers will be in retreat with St. Theresa School staff in Lihue.

Financial aid applications for next year are available for pick up.  They are due back in the school office by March 5.  These applications are for Augustine Educational Fund and Adopt A Student Program assistance.  Applications for Pauahi Keiki Scholar pre-kindergarten and elementary students are also available at www.ksbe.edu for download.  A financial aid parent workshop will be held February 11 at 6 pm in the fourth grade classroom for parents who are interested in applying.

Cub Scouts have taken on a campus beautification project this quarter.  The small area outside Coyle Hall entrance (with the palm tree) is being cleaned and planted.  Thank you Cub Scouts!

Upcoming events include our annual Science Fair on February 11 in Coyle Hall, and the beginning of Track season.  Runners will meet every Tuesday and Thursday in March from 2:30 - 4:00.

Finally, it’s Carnival planning time!  The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 3 at 6:30 in Coyle Hall.  Let’s all come and support Donna Palmer, our new Carnival Chairperson!

                                                                        Blessings,
